About Us
Nothing prepared me for what was going to actually happen as an educator in the classroom. My stint as a student-teacher failed to prepare me for what came next. I realized how much my host teacher protected me from the actual shrapnel of teaching.
My first months of teaching, I remember arriving at school around 6:00 am and leaving 12 hours later, only to go home and continue working. Within the first four months I experienced burnout, and I wanted to quit.
As educators, many times we’ve felt: exhausted, exhilarated, angry, joyful, embarrassed, or proud, and possibly all of those feelings within the same moment. We go all day without eating or even being able to go to the restroom. We cannot sustain our career in this way.
I knew I would have to change if I wanted to stay in this field. I learned there’s a better way, and it starts with self-care and boundaries.
I started Halo Culture to provide you with a framework of humor, grace and love to provide timeless jewelry that is easy to care for and beautiful.
